Knossos Palace (Minoan Civilization Site)

Το Ανάκτορο Κνωσού is the most important archaeological site of the Minoan civilization and one of the oldest palace complexes in Europe. Built around 1900 BCE and later rebuilt after destruction, it served as a political, administrative, and ceremonial center of ancient Crete.

Excavated in the early 20th century by Sir Arthur Evans, Knossos became globally famous for its connection to Greek mythology and for revealing the sophistication of Bronze Age Aegean culture.
